Sachin Tendulkar, the Great !!!

Sachin is the best.
...and there shall be no doubt about the same. Being skeptic is one way of living but comprehending the truth takes a broader mindset. Its unfair to place Sachin in the league of "any other" cricketer who has had a better record leading his team or winning the world cup finales. The irony is that we still wish Sachin to win the matches in a single handed manner as he used to do earlier. Team india is a much better entity right now than it was at the time when Sachin was at his prime. But our expectations for a one man show have not decreased by the minutest of degree. This itself shows our subtle admission of the fact that he is a Great player.

Ponting and other Australian cricketers have shown some great cricketing skills and have proved themselves to be better leaders than most of the Indian captains. Captaincy has never been Sachin's forte neither has he yearned for that place in the team. He is a pure batsman and his excellence is re inforced time and again by the humble and grounded demeanor he shows on and off the field. Hence, after the world cup debacle, he realized that the burden of captaincy shall be handed over to a youngster and he shall go back to the basics and improve his batting form once again. And we do have the results in the
finals of the Australia series.

Coming to the Aussies ... Ponting has a better success rate in international cricket but there is a disdain among his compatriots and some of the great Aussie players of the past for the way he wishes to dominates the environment and no one can forget the way the GREAT AUSSIEs manipulated the Sydney test off late simply to maintain a record. Sachin has never shown desparation or selfishness in order to maintain his records and this is an evidence of the contrast in the reverance the two players (or, we shall state Sachin and the rest of the Aussie team) have towards the great game.

Watching Sachin bat is still a treat for the eyes and there is no doubt that he can read each ball from any bowler. On an average, if we compare a fifty being scored by Sachin, Sourav, Dravid and Yuvraj , we will find that Sachin's game is more sure and steady. Dravid is a textbook batsman and the closest emulation of Sachin's batting calibre. But our new found love like Dhoni, Yuvi, Sehwag have often failed desparately against the best bowlers of the world and they have a long long journey before they will be able to prove themselves as the carriers of this flame and phonomenon. It is a fact that Sachin does fail at times but before I get frustrated and ever feel like raising a finger, I do a reality check like comparing him with the other so-called best s. Also, been in the consultancy business I fathom the dynamics of a team and challenges of the individuals that form a team. Any individual, no matter how great he/she is at his/her work is liable to falter due to N number of factors but you cannot write off his/her records and calibre due to some bad patches or else you will never have a team.

I have tried to illustrate the brilliance of this mortal with the limited ken I do possess about the game and batting as a skill. And I wish the almighty pardon me for any mistakes in this passage and take this effort as the the best I could make. Sachin, will be remembered for being a top cricketer and a human who contributed selflessly to the game and hence if not the God, he is definitely the high priest in this temple.

there are different kinds of individuals in every sector of life and we adore or dislike or simply ignore some based on their qualities. my fav cricketer is Sachin...probably, that is why I wrote in his favor. some of you have batted for Dada, no doubt he is anthr great player and all reverence for him.this article is strongly pro Sachin and probably (never intentionally) ignores the other great cricketers because it ws written in reply to a friend's derogatory remarks about the God :) (ok, one of the cricketing Gods)
